Den græskfødte Erieta Attali begyndte sin karriere som landskabs- og arkæologifotograf, men har de sidste syv år gjort sig stadig mere bemærket som arkitekturfotograf. Erieta Attali har været et skarpsindigt vidne til den seneste udvikling i moderne arkitektur og har rejst over hele Jorden, og gennem den moderne glasarkitektur har hun fundet et materiale, hvorigennem hun har sublimeret sin fotografiske stil. "Rather than aiming at documenting architecture and its glass components as facts, Attali focuses on the ephemeral and immaterial phenomena in which they are imbued and that they also foster. With a manifest disdain for the cheerful, her powerful black-and-white and utterly unsentimental images nevertheless convey the awe of a person still capable of gazing wide-eyed at the astonishing wonders of the world. [...] Many of Attali's photographs are nocturnal shots; and, even when not, they are suffused in a mysterious luminescence often emanated in the night. Indeed, most are taken at dusk, when the visual attributes of the landscape fade and are taken over by the insights of our imagination. In effect these photographs are dreamscapes, the ones we experience on the threshold of sleep and wake, when things emerge in a different light and often with a unique but unexplainable clarity. The magic of her camerawork is such that, rather than merely obscuring the field of vision and the objectivity of facts, it challenges our usual comprehension of mundane reality and in so doing promotes a better and more complex understanding of it"(Botond Bognard: Reflected Transparency).
Bogens fotografier viser bygningsværker af blandt andet arkitekterne Kazuyo Sejima, Bernard Tschumi, Coop Himmelb(l)au, Richard Meier, Toyo Ito, Kengo Kuma, Pekka Helin, Dominique Perrault, Tadao Ando, Volker Giencke, Kisho Kurokawa, Rafael Viñoly, Riken Yamamoto, Dan Graham.
Bogen er forsynet med indledende tekster af Kenneth Frampton, Ian Jeffrey, Botond Bognard og Jilly Traganou. Den udgives i samarbejde med Columbia University.
